New Zealand for You - Education
Education is recognised the world over as the key to understanding the past, and managing the future, and in today's increasingly open world educational opportunity can be pursued in many diverse places.
Here in New Zealand we have a small nation's pride in the world-wide contributions of our citizens in fields as diverse as the NASA programs, nuclear physics, agricultural science, arts and letters and the sports sciences. Many of the institutions, which nurtured these high achievers, are available today to students from every land.
New Zealand has a full range of learning institutions, Universities, Polytechnics, Institutes of Technology, Language Schools, plus Primary and Secondary schools within the state and private-provider sectors. These are available to you now on New Zealand for You.
In most cases accommodation provision is a part of the service offered to foreign students, which is also available as part of the New Zealand for You selections. Our education system is built on the successful models from Europe, and the newer derivatives which developed in the United States. Students sit a number of internationally-recognised external examinations set by the State Qualifications Authority, as they move through the school system to University Entrance level.
A small number of Private schools also support the International Baccalaureate system.
It is compulsory to attend school until the age of 16 in New Zealand, and the State provides a comprehensive and secular education system for all it's citizen's, and many State school's also now welcome foreign fee-paying students.
New Zealand has an increasing number of Private schools, which charge fees for attendance, and also receive some support from State funding. A substantial number of these schools also encourage attendance by fee-paying foreign students.
New Zealand's open and friendly life-style is an important added attraction to those considering New Zealand as an education base for a student. The cities are not large by world standards, and the smaller regional centres supporting education to University level ensure a full and rounded life experience for international students. There is much to see and do in New Zealand, and to become involved in the daily life of the country as part of the education process will bring benefits to all participants.
All aspects of life in New Zealand are found on New Zealand for You.
